How do you make any film a sure hit?
Take Akshay Kumar as the hero, Katrina as the leading lady, Anees Bazmi as the director, Vipul Shah to produce it, aur ek Punjabi tadka laga do. Assi Picture to hit ho jayegi.
Here comes Anees Bazmi's another, and this time its not just a tadka, but total Punjabi masala.
SINGH IS KINGG!
Never before has one made a serious attempt at having a turban-clad Sardar as the protagonist (of course it is safe to overlook, Jo Bole So Nihaal starring Sunny Deol). And the Singhs, we don't have just one, but plenty of them. Right from the handsome Akshay Kumar, there is Sonu Sood, Javed Jaffrey, Sudhanshu Pandey and OM Puri too - All as Sardars. Wow, this one is going to rock to the Punjabi beat.
Akshay Kumar returns back to what he does the best - Comedy and Action. He plays the role of the Happy Sardar and I mean, by Name too - Happy Singh. Coming from a small village in Punjab, he is the Mr. Nice guy who tries to help everyone out there, but every time he does that it seems to backfire and land him in trouble. Tired of his antics, the villagers hatch a plot to get rid of him by sending him to get another notorious son of the soil, Lakhanpal Singh aka Lucky Singh (Sonu Sood) who is the king of the underworld in Australia. With his gang of Sardars he rules the underworld in Aussie land.
Happy Singh ever ready to help, thinks the villagers mean him good and sets out on the quest to bring back Lucky Singh. Fate takes him to Egypt where he falls in Love with Sonia (the lovely Katrina Kaif), a law student who loves to have fun. She loses her cool only when she comes across criminals.
How Lucky's life is saved by the naive Happy Singh from an attack on his life, how the turn of events makes Lucky Singh paralyzed and Happy Singh the King of Underworld forms the story. The story takes a hilarious turn when Happy converts the dangerous skills of the gang men to utilize them as domestic help in order to impress his girl. Needless to say this movie will leave us laughing.
The music is already out in the stores and creating a buzz on the music charts. Even though the songs are a little slow to get on with, once you have heard it a couple of times even you can't stop murmuring ….
