Preview: Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam

review: Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam

This August you can laugh along with the Pyar Ke Side Effects jodi again, with Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam. And this time Paresh Rawal and K.K Menon join Rahul Bose and Mallika Sherawat to add to the drollery.

Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam

Bose sure looks inspired by Kamal Hassan’s Dasavatharam, since he portrays 6 avtaars in this film - a daredevil officer of the intelligence agency, Mughal prince Jehangir, an underworld gangster, a Hyderabadi Nawab, a dumb deputy of an underworld don and also a don’s bodyguard!

Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam

Unlike the title, the story is extremely fresh, young and contemporary. Its about a theatre group - Kalakar Natak Company which wants to bring about a change in society through its plays. Unfortunately its though-provoking and socially relevant plays are not well received by the audience. But they don’t lose hope and dream about a day they’d manage to get their message across and everyone would say “Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam”.

Sanjay Chel, the director of the film had this to say:

MAAN GAYE MUGHAL-E-AZAM stresses on humor. It’s a dhamaal film, but not a mindless entertainer. There’s a purpose for everything that’s depicted on screen. It’s on the lines of JAANE BHI DO YAARO…

The film is scheduled to release on August 25. Lets hope “Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam” is well received by our audience.
